Although New York has everything you could ask for, it’s also very tough for newcomers. Our team experienced this firsthand during our first three months in New York. This led us to the idea of building a community that helps guide you through your toughest times here.

We need users to create written content, but we understand that writing can be very time-consuming. Therefore, we use AI to help make content creation easier for users.

Connect with the other newcomers. Our goal was to show more diverse types of people in the community, making users more well-rounded.

Introducing Profile Widgets

Tags or labels are typically used in profiles to show user’s personality and interest. But they are not what we need. We need something expandable, flexible and fun. Bento design is what I got inspired.

When you create your profile on S’more, we hope you feel free to express yourself not just through plain descriptions, but also through diverse formats that help you connect with the city.

We tested the beta version with a small group of newcomers to get quick feedback. We soon realized that focusing solely on their first few months in the city wouldn’t be sustainable.

So, we conducted another round of research and interviews before officially launching S’more. This led us to evolve our product strategy and completely rebrand to match the new positioning.
